QuickTime 1.6 or later is required to run the video segments in Using the Internet for Profit. QuickTime 2.0 is included on the CD-ROM, in case you do not already have QuickTime 1.6 or later. See instructions below for installing QuickTime.

The program will run with less memory, or with a single-speed CD-ROM drive, but the performance may be degraded, particularly when playing movies. You may have to wait longer between segments of the program. Please be patient.
Please note: In the Memory Control Panel turn off Virtual Memory or the CD-ROM will not operate.
Installation/Startup Instructions
1. Place the CD-ROM in your drive.
2. Double click on the CD-ROM labeled "Internet".
3. Drag the Internet for Profit folder from the CD-ROM to your system's hard drive.
4. To run, double click on the UIP icon located in the Internet for Profit folder on your system's hard drive.

Using the Internet for Profit contains valuable tools to create your own web presence.
In the Resource Center there are numerous opportunities to copy shareware to your hard drive. Simply click on the appropriate button and you will be prompted to the location in which to copy the files. You will find these tools in the sections below:

Please fill out the feedback form included in the Resource Center. This form can be printed or saved to disk.
Internet Ready Reference:
The Resource Center also contains 100 Internet-ready files. To access this information you must be connected to the Internet. (You can use PSI Interramp (Netshark), located in Internet Tools section of Using the Internet for Profit to connect to the Internet). The Resource Center files are located on the root of the CD-ROM in a the folder "IREADYRC". Drag this folder to your hard drive to access this information or copy down the folder in the Productivity Tools section of Using the Internet for Profit Resource Center.
In your Internet browser software, Open File: IRCENTER.HTM. You may also drag the file over your browser icon. (The file is located on your hard drive in the folder IREADYRC). The file contains active links to guide you through various Internet resources.
We suggest that you turn off any screen saver you have while viewing Using the Internet for Profit. Otherwise, the screen saver may start up while you are watching the program, interrupting your viewing until you move the mouse or hit a key.
You may have a single-speed CD-ROM drive, or too little RAM. Quit any other applications that may be running before running Using the Internet for Profit.
Extensions and control panels use RAM. Try reducing the disk cache size, using the Memory control panel. If that does not help, try removing some of your non-Apple extensions and control panels and restart your system.
Using the Internet for Profit contains HELP screens throughout the program.
Trouble Shooting
Internet CD disk icon does not appear on desktop: CD extensions may not be installed properly. Reinstall any third-party CD-ROM software you are using, or reinstall the Apple CD-ROM software. Note that the program is incompatible with System 6. To use it, you must upgrade to System 7.
Movies don't play at all: Check to see whether QuickTime is installed properly.
Movies don't play well: Your CD contains the Apple Multimedia Tuner (scroll down in the window to see it). To install the Tuner, drag the Apple Multimedia Tuner file in this folder onto your closed system folder. Restart your machine.
Images are not clear or show parts of previous images: The program may need more RAM. Try strategies in previous paragraphs.
Color is poor in movies, movies appear grainy: If your machine is capable of thousands of colors, set the display to thousands using the Monitors control panel.
